A fast-casual takeout or dine-in Caribbean & Jamaican restaurant, conveniently situated on the corner of E Gun Hill Road and Seymour Avenue in The Bronx near Haffen Park. Known for their family recipes of classic Caribbean food staples, from Jamaican beef patties and coco bread, to jerk chicken, oxtail, and curried goat or chicken. Today, Sunday, I went in Ikon Caterers and as mu as they are price reasonable, their customer service is lacking. Golden Krust on the other hand on Gu hill Road, not only that the food is great, a little salty at times, but their customers service is second to none. I will forever going to Golden krust because I always like to feel welcome whichever food establishment I go to. The ladies on Sunday were excellent. Place was clean and how they spoke to the guests with respect, excellent. Keep up the good work Golden Krust and I will be a recurring customer.
Yesterday I was in the store and an employee by the name of Laverne was very professional when an unruly customer started cursing her just because she was doing her job. Luckily I was there. It's surprising to me that the restaurant doesn't have security for its employees. Because of what I witnessed yesterday how professional she was, I will continue to go there, not just for the patties and the stewed chicken which is what I had yesterday, but for the professionalism and friendliness of the employees especially the lady, Laverne who acted very professional and continue to give great service with a smile to the customers. I appreciate the hard work that the employees are doing because we do need this restaurant in our community.
Place is so clean and the ladies make you feel at home. Highly recommended.
