About Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant
A fast-casual takeout or dine-in Caribbean & Jamaican restaurant, conveniently situated in the Mall at Prince George's in Hyattsville. Known for their family recipes of classic Caribbean food staples, from Jamaican beef patties and coco bread, to jerk chicken, oxtail, and curried goat or chicken. Offerings now include vegetarian and beyond meat alternatives. The bakery boasts numerous enticing options including spice bun, hard dough bread, and carrot cake (among many more delectable items).
I see a lot of low scores for this concept and you all have to understand cultural differences. Caribbean folk are very direct and genuine. Im sorry if that bothers people who expect their butts kissed. My visits are always polite because I lead with respect. I dont know her name but the darkskinned woman who works the register is ALWAYS sweet and nice to me. I came in limping and we started talking about being mindful of my health.... to the person who made a comment about the oxtails being bones....😒😒😒😒 its bones bro get over it. I always order a large Oxtail platter with no plantains with extra cabbage and my plate is always fire. I love coming here and will continue to do so. Had someone visit from Pittsburgh and she got curry chicken and sent photos to her dad and she absolutely loved her plate too.
I heard about this restaurant on WHUR and was excited to try it. Worst customer service-no greeting, no acknowledgement except to inform me that it was cash on. Good just ok.
I really wanted to love this Golden Krust….despite being a franchise, the food is generally good. I’ve have a few misses with a few dishes but for the most part…it’s pretty tasty. However, today my husband and I purchased two patties and two pieces of coco bread and got charged $17.00 and change. Now…we don’t mind paying money for quality food….but $17.00 for two patties and two pieces of bread??? Golden Krust franchise owners and operators set their individual location’s final prices. Unfortunately, I don’t see them lasting too long ini our area if they don’t reevaluate. That’s ridiculous. Make your money- but don’t take advantage of the community. It’s tasty but not that great.
