Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant in Newnan

Man oh man this review is LONG overdue. I promised Chef I'd tell everyone about how he handles those pots in the kitchen the FIRST time I visited this location. So...I wasn't close to home handling business at a nearby retailer. I had time to kill and I was starving. I was glad too see there was a spot where I could get some "yard" food from back home in Jamaica 🇯🇲. Now, most know that GK is a franchise so what you get varies greatly by location. I decided to take a chance. The line was kinda long. I wasn't thrilled about the wait but I could see the employee was struggling with short staffing and the fact that people weren't leaving made me feel like I was in for a treat. I talked to some folks on the line and they said the food was great.my normal dish at a restaurant to test jamaican food out for the 1st time is stew chicken, but EVERYONE was ordering the jerk chicken or oxtail. Since I don't eat red meat I went with the Jerk. Omg my mouth and stomach were so happy! The food was delicious. I had to go ask for the chef to compliment him. I told him I'd submit a review then life got busy. Recently I was back in the area. I was so happy to stop by again. This time I decided I'd have my favorite, stew chicken. The line was shorter and I was greeted by Christopher who was pleasant and talkative. I gave him my order and as we chatted I learned that he was the owner. I told him about how pleased I was with my first experience and was happy to have the opportunity to return. Chef was there and I had a chance to speak with him to compliment his talent again. I took my order home hoping and anticipating a repeat performance and may I say the stew chicken did not disappoint (or was banging!!!). If you are anywhere near this area, or don't mind driving for really good food, go ahead and treat yourself!
